For users who have registered before 12 Dec 2013
Q: I am a registered member of REACH. How will the introduction of Facebook login affect current registered users?
A:. Following the introduction of Facebook login on 12 Dec 2013, all users (including existing registered members) need to login via Facebook to start a discussion thread, comment or reply on the REACH Discussion Forum (DF).
Q: What will happen to my existing REACH account?
A: Existing REACH-registered users are no longer able to use their existing email address to access their REACH account from 12 Dec as their accounts are no longer valid. We require existing users to access the site with their Facebook accounts.
Getting Started on the REACH Discussion Forum
Q: I wish to start a discussion thread or post a reply to a discussion thread. How do I go about doing it?
A: You will need to login to the REACH Discussion Forum using your Facebook account. For a step-by-step user guide, please refer to the infographic.
For further clarifications, you may contact REACH Duty Officer at 9675 5154 from Monday to Sunday (9.00am to 8.00pm) or drop us an email after office hours.
Q: Will I be able to view the Discussion Forum or access the other parts of the website if I do not use Facebook to log in?
A: Yes, you can browse the portal and forum. However, to start a thread on the Discussion Forum or reply to a post, you must log in using your Facebook account. Do note that the Facebook login applies only to the REACH Discussion Forum, Snapshots of Hot Issues and Replies to Feedback sections.
Q: What if I don't have a Facebook account, or if I prefer not to log in using my Facebook account? Are there other ways through which I can provide my feedback?
A: For those without a Facebook account or who prefer not to use Facebook login, your feedback is equally important to us. We welcome your feedback, views and suggestions via these REACH platforms:
We also welcome you to join us at our face-to-face dialogues, forums and conversations with fellow Singaporeans, where we discuss issues of concern.
For more information on upcoming sessions, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: After logging in through Facebook, the pop-up states that 'REACH Singapore would like to access your public profile and friend list'. What does this entail? Will my posts on the Discussion Forum appear on my Facebook page?
A: The pop-up for you to agree to allow access to REACH Singapore is a standard dialogue that Facebook logins like ours have to comply to. We would like to assure you that we are not tracking your profile or friends list. If you are not agreeable to allow access, you can click "Cancel" to exit. However, you will not be able to participate on our Discussion Forum.
As a Facebook user, you decide what appears on your public profile. Posts and comments put up on the REACH Discussion Forum will not be published on your Facebook profile.
Q: I would like to be put on the REACH mailing list so that I can be kept informed of REACH events and receive the monthly newsletter. How can I sign up for this? Will I be able to unsubscribe from it at a later date?
A: Users will automatically be added to the REACH mailing list when they first log in with their Facebook account.
If you do not wish to receive such email updates from REACH, or to use another email account other than the one tied to your Facebook account, you can unsubscribe or indicate the email address for the mailing list by emailing email@example.com.
Q: How can I log out of the REACH Discussion Forum?
A: You may log out from the Discussion Forum by closing your web browser. Alternatively, you may also log out from your Facebook account to end the session on the REACH Discussion Forum.
Q: How can I disconnect my Facebook account from the REACH Discussion Forum?
A: You may disconnect your Facebook account from the REACH Discussion Forum by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
