REACH New Comic Character Social Media Contest

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility:

1. This contest is open to all Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents as of the date of entry. Employees of the Ministry of Communications and Information (“MCI”), its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and suppliers, are not eligible to participate in the contest.

2. The contest starts on 10 June 2022, and ends on 17 June 2022, 11:59 pm, UTC +8. All online entries must be received by 17 June 2022, 11:59 pm, UTC +8.

3. By participating, you agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Terms and Conditions. You represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of MCI as final and binding as it relates to any decisions made in connection with this contest.

Contest mechanics:

4. Your entry must fulfil all requirements pertaining to this contest, including these Terms and Conditions, as well as all instructions, rules, specifications or guidelines as may be specified in relation to the contest. Entries that are incomplete, or that do not adhere to all specified rules or specifications, may be disqualified at the sole discretion of MCI.

5. To participate in the contest, you must complete the following steps:

Step 1: Insert your response into the Instagram Question “Suggest a new REACH character” on the Instagram Stories posted on REACH’s Instagram (@reachsg). This response may be submitted via Instagram Question on Instagram Stories or the Question sticker on Facebook Stories. 

Step 2: Click “send” to submit your response.

Step 3: Follow both REACH’s Instagram (@reachsg) and REACH Singapore Comics’ Instagram (@reachsgcomics).
You will be deemed to have submitted an entry for the contest, when the above steps have been completed. You may only submit one (1) entry.  

5A.  By submitting an entry, you represent and warrant that:
(i) You are the owner of the copyright and any other intellectual property right in the entry submitted by you; 
(ii) You have not licensed or assigned any copyright or intellectual property right in your entry, or any part thereof, to any third party anywhere in the world. 

5B. Any entry which in MCI’s view contains defamatory, violent, infringing, obscene, pornographic, sexual, indecent or unlawful material that and/or that violates local and international laws and regulations, shall be immediately disqualified.

5C. Any entry which is incomplete, illegible, incomprehensible or not received by MCI will be void. MCI reserves the right to disqualify any entry which does not comply with the criteria stipulated in these Terms and Conditions or is otherwise deemed ineligible at MCI’s sole discretion.

5D. Any entry which has been submitted using false, incorrect, fraudulent or misleading information, including but not limited to personal details and contact information, will be void. MCI also reserves the right, at any time, to invalidate any entry which it suspects to have been submitted using false, incorrect, fraudulent or misleading information, including but not limited to personal details and contact information that have been submitted through the use of multiple identities, email addresses or accounts.  

Prizes:

6. One (1) winner (the “Winner”) will be selected by MCI from all eligible entries submitted as at 17 June 2022, 11:59 pm, UTC +8.

7. The Winner will receive 8 pieces of $10 One Faber Group F&B Vouchers (total value of $80).

8. MCI will notify the Winner of his/her selection via Instagram Direct Message (or Facebook Direct Messaging, if his/her entry was submitted via Facebook Stories). The Winner must respond to MCI’s Direct Message and provide MCI with the contact/delivery information requested. The 8 pieces of $10 One Faber Group F&B Vouchers will be sent to the Winner via courier, to the address provided by the Winner. The Winner may redeem the vouchers by following the instructions on the vouchers. Each voucher may only be used once. 

8A. The Winner must provide MCI with the contact/delivery information in accordance with clause 8, by 1 July 2022, failing which, MCI reserves the right to forfeit the vouchers or select another winner using the method set out in clause 6. 

9. The One Faber Group F&B Vouchers are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash. The vouchers are/will be issued by Mount Faber Leisure Group Pte. Ltd. and will be governed, as between you and Mount Faber Leisure Group Pte. Ltd., by such separate terms and conditions as may be imposed by Mount Faber Leisure Group Pte. Ltd..

Other terms and conditions:

10. Any personal Information you provide will be protected in accordance with the Singapore Government Privacy Policy ↗ (opens in new tab) statement.

11. By entering this contest, you understand and agree that MCI, or anyone acting on behalf of MCI, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, for the next two years and throughout the world, without limitation, your entry, name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image, statements about the contest, and biographical information for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes, without compensation, notice, review, or consent.
11A. Without prejudice to clause 11 above, you grant MCI a worldwide, exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable, irrevocable and transferable right to use, reproduce, distribute, edit, display or publicize your entry (or any part thereof), for the purpose of creating and designing a new comic character for REACH. 

12. MCI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest should any virus, bug, non-authorised human intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond MCI’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the contest. In such case, MCI may select the Winners from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by MCI. MCI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website or violates these Terms and Conditions.

13. By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless MCI and its advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees and officers from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) your participation in the contest and/or your acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the entry process or the contest; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the contest or the processing of entries.

14. MCI reserves the right, at any time, to change, modify or supplement these Terms and Conditions or any part thereof. The changed, modified or supplemented Terms and Conditions will be posted  here.
