If you have any questions about the new MediShield Life insurance scheme, you can now head down to your nearest community club (CC) or Residents’ Committee (RC) centre for free personal consultations.
The sessions, held by the People’s Association (PA) and the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore (IFPAS), will be held at 39 CCs and RCs across the island every Monday to help explain and address queries about the scheme.
They were first piloted in Tanjong Pagar GRC from July, and were on Monday (2 Nov) extended to six other group representation constituencies - Ang Mo Kio, Bishan-Toa Payoh, Chua Chu Kang, Marine Parade, Nee Soon and Tampines. They will be rolled out to most CCs in phases by next year.
For example, IFPAS representatives can explain the difference between MediShield Life and MediShield, the difference in premiums payable, and provide advice on what kind of insurance options are available. They will also do so in various languages, including dialects, to cater to elderly residents.
PA staff, IFPAS leaders and grassroots volunteers will be on site to ensure IFPAS volunteers do not sell insurance policies or exchange personal contact numbers.
The free sessions will be held every Monday from 7pm to 9.30pm. Those interested can make appointments at their respective CCs.
