Educating Public on MediShield Life

Marine Parade GRC MP Fatimah Lateef said on Sunday (1 Nov) that educating the public on MediShield Life and its details is a long-term process that will involve a multi-pronged approach. Her remarks were a follow-up to Health Minister Gan Kim Yong’s comments that the Ministry of Health (MOH) will continue to explore ways to reach out and educate residents about MediShield Life and address any concerns they might have

Speaking on the sidelines of a community event, Dr Fatimah said grassroots leaders  in her Geylang Serai ward are being trained to explain the new healthcare policy to residents, following the implementation of MediShield Life coverage on 1 Nov.

Explanations for MediShield Life will be "piggybacked" onto ongoing education and outreach efforts for the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) card and Pioneer Generation Package (PGP) during house visits and at condominium and block parties.

Representatives from the Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore will also provide free one-on-one question-and-answer sessions for residents by weekly appointment.
