Wanting to upgrade your skills, but having second thoughts given the cost of upgrading?
Over 500 government cash grants worth $5,000 each are now available for young and mid-career workers looking to deepen their skills in areas relevant to their employment.
Applications for the first phase of the SkillsFuture Study Award opened on Tuesday (20 Oct) said the Singapore Workforce Development Agency. These bond-free grants are intended to subsidise courses, assist workers with saving on training costs and can be used on top of existing government course subsidies.
To qualify for the grant, applicants must have at least three years of work experience in the relevant sector. Each year up to 2000 grants will be made available and will cover upgrading of skills in areas as diverse as fashion technology, mechanical technology, pastry, baking, cyber-security and so much more.
How else can young and mid-career professionals be encouraged to deepen their skills?
