A new restructured ministry will be called Ministry of Social and Family Development. Social development includes family development. Nevertheless, what is “family development”? The term “social development” is quite close to the word “culture” which another new restructured ministry will use.
I suggest the name revert to Ministry of Social Service. The ministry can have a unit which promotes family values.

Though name is important, what is more important is carrying out their intended setup.
It is pointless having this or that Ministry, when we really seek for assistance, we were arrowed to another Ministry and that Ministry to another. Having too many grey areas, overlapping each other portfolios, at the end, no help was given.
So every Ministry will wash their hands, claiming that it is not under their care. Then breaking up the Ministry will be doing more harm then improve their service towards the betterment of the people.

I don't care what it's name is. We can call it Wonderland-Paradise and anything from Ah-kau Kopi stall to Ah Moi Community Market... the most important thing is whether the ministry has clear objectives to what is suppose to do and don't.
Another thing, what's the so-call "family values" you are referring to? Your family values or mine? Promote what? When father is not yet home, the dinner shall not starts? Or when buying something, it must obtain the approval of head of household?
Tell me, what is "family value"? How to promote? Wasting money on marketing campaigns or revamp education modules? Send parents or kids to attend "family-values" courses?
Or something more practical, such as family visit to zoo, bird-park, universal-studio, or garden-by-the-bay gets 50% discount off overall ticket price?

An appropiate name of the ministry is to define its objectives
The govt wants married couples to have more babies.

Then simple, we can consider these names:
1. MOB - Ministry of Baby-power;
2. MOO - Ministry of Off-spring production;
3. MOSC - Ministry of Singaporean culturing;
4. MOL - Ministry of LOVE

Its function will not only to promote more babies. It will also be in-charge of many social services.
