I am a blue collar Singaporean from ITE to be specific, due to influx of foreign workers and stagnant salary for the past decade it's been hard for me just to make ends meet.

I do have the desire to upgrade myself but due to my limited disposable income I am unable to do so.

Would it be great if education fees can be paid from CPF deduction?

People like myself really do not have that extra to put aside for school fees and projects

Yes, I fully agree and support you.
The government should not be holding back too much of our own money, anyway it is through our own efforts that these monies are earned and build up in our CPF.

If should be permited to be use for many cases like education, chidren's education, IVF for couples who cannot conceive, members whose elderly parents  who have to be put nto homes, etc...

Why hold back so much of the people's monies???

These monies are used for Temasek and GIC but the people cannot enjoy any benefits when Temasek and GIC makes a profit!

Yes. Exactly. I too Fully agree with the threadstarter.

CPF Should NOT be a Central Ponzi Fund meant to fill government coffers!!

It should be released for the genuine Needs of the Rightful Owners. People who desire to upgrade themselves like the Threadstarter should be allowed to access their OWN Money as they and they alone should Decide how to spend and Invest Their OWN Fruits of Labour.

This is NOT even a request for subsidies or handouts!

Please CPF officers, have a heart for all Rightful Owners Who NEED access to Their OWN Hard-Earned Money to improve their lives!!

Thank you

I am no collar Singaporean study at ITE.  I no understand what you talking about.

The ITE course fees for Singaporean,

Higher Nitec - $121.50 for core module.  For optional module : $63.50 - 121.50

Nitec - S$134.50 per module

ITE Skills Cert - S$102.00

If you are low wage earner, you can apply Bursary.

Your employer also can apply training grant where you can get paid for the time you are on course.

There are also training awards by self-help groups for various races, see Page 29 of ITE Prospectus 2012 (yellow color one).

S$134.50 per 6 mth module also want to use CPF to pay?

You blame your stagnant salary on the Foreign workers?

Even if you complete the full course in ITE, the salary would also be very limited. Can get $2K/mth you can laugh already.

Hi I understood what thread starter meant.
He is interested in pursuing a Degree education.
A degree education will usually cost around 20-30K if there are no exemptions.
Assuming you save about $300 per month (20%), you will need up to 8 years.

I am unsure the motivation behind your reply. I personally feel if you are not able to help someone in a more realistic way, at least be nice enough not to hurt them. "Hurt not others in ways you find hurtful"

If you have good friends or children in this person shoe's you will realise their pain, challenges and suffering and that comes from empathy.

Take care.

Thread Starter's intention is not to blame the foreigners. Lets not get into that.
Your reply clearly indicate that either you yourself are a foreigner or someone with a comfortable salary.

Thread starter merely recognises your talent and competitiveness and hope to be as good as you.
The only way to gain a competitive advantage is to add value and that comes with education.

thread starter is already an ITE trade certificate holder, you totally misunderstood him

if your a foreigner let me brief you how the mainsteam system goes for tertiary education

ITE Nitec > Higher Nitec > Diploma > Degree > Master > PhD

I believe TS is referring to upgrading himself to obtain a diploma.

Not forgetting time, transportation, food, projects expenses to attend night class
