Firstly, you lost out comparing with your colleague. Don't worry, your boss knows because he also compares you both.
You... grudging, complaining, what other negative traits of sg do you have?
Him... happily carrying out his work, happy with his pay, doing plenty of overtime (do you?), no sick leaves and what other positive traits?
So go out and do better than him. You are army trained (he, not) to take all hardships, physical and mental (unless the army is now producing softies) and this you can't take? You are working for your future and for your family, like him. Proof to yourself you can do better (I'm not interested, I'm retired) else quit the job like everybody else and complain about FT's.
Nowadays youngsters ahhhh.....

I would like to suggest that the govt consider 2 things:
1. increasing taxes for foreign workers in singapore, to help level somewhat the playing field for singaporean men vs foreign workers. This in itself may not encourage companies to hire more Singapore men because of the propensity for foreign workers to work longer hours due to less home commitments in Singapore. It penalises the worker, not the company.
2. tax breaks for companies (differing tiers depending on % of Singaporean men hired in company) that support NS obligations. This hopefully can help encourage companies to hire Singaporean men who have served the nation. Such tax beraks hopefully will level "productivity" of locals vs foreign staff, as company bottom line is affected. The tax breaks of supporting

Too bad you are born Singaporean, can only blame heaven. Companies don't give a sh1t about NS, it's nothing to them, it doesn't help with their profit, some might even think you are making them a loss. NS=2years down the toilet followed by 10 years of harrassment, no horse run. If I employer, sorry to say even though I'm Singaporean, I also choose foreigner, reason simple, no need reservist, every year one time, waste my time and resource, I still have to find people to cover your work. RT or IPT also, want to go off early how? I eat myself? If hire foreigner, no such nonsense. Lucky have quota, if not all hire foreigners liao. Sound harsh? Sorry, fact is fact. Then sometime they weekend activate you go back, ask you go back cho bo or go some event, or ICT sunday ask you book in, waste your rest day haha, then 5 day week cannot claim weekend, give $8 service pay.
When I earning $2200, a girl same job, same age, she earning $2800, hahaha super short-changed lor. sibei paiseh! How?

the stability of this country depends on our young men,NOT the foreigners or women.u as a man shd b fighting this exploitation rather than supporting it.is it the fault of the man that he is recalled?wait til war come, see if the foreigners n women defend the company with their lives instead of the local men.
