The craze for "K-Pop" celebrities have amazed many youths around the world and perhaps captured the hearts and minds of some teenypopers here who are excited about their korean fad, new age music and movies.  The korean black hosiery, leggings, paants and sensual lingerie with their "thinspiration"looks seems to instill a new Korean glamour among the youths - a phenomenon that have incorporated into their PDA (public display of affection) in their asian outlook.

There have been multiple theories that attempt to explain this phenomenon. Some people concluded that the rationale behind the fame K-Pop fever is that it is their manifestation of romance and possible deprivation of boy-girl relationship that was traditionally frown by the older generation.  Another argument could be the fascination with "bromance"and the hush-hush affairs among gays and lesbians in the US.  I won't deny that several K-pop celebrities have adorable relationships we seldom see in Singapore (perhaps, I could be wrong) but their stage performance is really stunning though I am ok with it.  Just don't ask me for their names and who wears what or the most popular hit as I don't keep track of them.  Apart from it, I really can't tell them apart (smile).  I suppose they are quite playful chics having fun with one another (perhaps to spite their stiff-collar regimental North Korean counterparts) which makes every youth want to melt on a grilled cheese pizza with their partners. This, then, launches into a whole pile of psychological theory that I am nowhere near qualified to discuss further.  However I am not impressed with their dangerous "thinspiration" concepts which is a health hazard and advise the youths here not to adopt such trend - it's my personal prerogative and honest opinion.   So we'll just leave that at that.  What do you think?

Oh really??  thanks for the update but on the serious tone, is it a digital program or an imported fiction among the new breed of K-Pop group here?

I agree with Psychologist that their "thinspiration" extremism ***** me off really.  Maybe they have a hidden clause for their look!

The Korean Y gen of today can be very innovative but tend to carry their image like Manga dolls which brings a little fantasy into their growing years and it will pass away like any other pop culture in the making.

lady gaga is innovative despite being totally disregarding anything.these k pop women only know how to shorten their pants to a fugly extent.indulgence in indecency isnt innovative.gaga's costumes go beyond mere cheap exposure, though its rather crazy

Sometimes, not actually from S Korea,  Much more of a gay outburst with a cultural twist.

I know these K-pop may get the girls a-flutter, but it ain't exactly rock'n'roll of the 70s. This is entirely a brand management of sickos that goes into K-pop groups makes Syco [Simon Cowell's company] look like an underground punk collective not worth your American idols.

Say what you want.  But their butt dance got Koreans going crazee for the dance move that they claimed to be only the K-Pop original.  I never buy it.  It is still very much American style.

The new North Korean leader must be eyeing on them privately.  He is perhaps a little different chip from his dead old man.  Bet you if he can stowaway to Singapore and b spotted, disguising himself to the South is child play.

OMG!  What saddened N Koreans is that they are hearing or maybe seeing so much talents among the young that they may think of kidnapping the most idolized celebrity.  Spy vs spy confrontation eh?
