good news to stop PR from subletting and make profit.
HDB & govt and can do more ..... to make locally born sporeans feel good to be citizens.
eg Newly converted citizens can only sublet after they have completed NS.
what else.... think....

Just stop PRs buy our HDB flats, everthing will be solved.
HDB just want to profit from these sales.

Wrong. PR do not need to pay 20% sales levy like Singaporeans do. HDB should not allow PR to speculate in public flat and make them pay 20% sales levy like Singaporeans do when they sell their flat. PR should be directed to speculate in private property.

You are misinformed. Singaporean also do not need pay 20% sales levy if you buy a resale flat.

they can still rent out for 1 year instead of 3 years, how is that good news? in the first place, they shouldn't be allowed to rent out whole flat.
i think nobody should be allowed to rent out whole flat unless have good reason like work overseas for a period.
can rent out whole flat means they don't need the flat, so why let these people buy flat in the first place? give to those needy ones better right?

PR has difficulty renting out their HDB ... no problem. They can always buy a condo and rent out the condo while staying in HDB.
We should have laws to prevent this abuse.
For example, PR should not be owner of both HDB and Condo. If not this, allow PR to buy HDB and confo but they need to pay ABSD of 20% for their second purchase. If PR wants to buy HDB, limit them to 1-5 floor.
A major grouse of Singaporeans is that the government is treating foreigners better than local Singaporeans. Scholarship, no NS, able to compete with Singaporeans for cars and houses, etc. It is easier for Singaporeans to accept foreigners if such unfair policies are gradually reduced, to benefit Singaporeans more.

The real matter here is not that we should be concern about foreigners or PRs earning a living here or profiting from leasing their flats. The matter here is there is already shortage in HDB flats supply and jobs for our Singaporeans , therefore our govt should have put all the necessary policy earlier to prevent these shortages from occurring. Instead it is now just doing too little and too late in trying to plug somes holes here and there in their policies to sooth it's angry citizens.
