Air, Sea and Land, My Habitat
When I mentioned in my earlier posts that smoking should be banned, I received replies from some other forum participants that if smoking should be banned, then other unhealthy things like consuming unhealthy food and drinks should be banned as well. Well, I agree that anything that is not good for one's health should be banned no matter what it is.
I wish to highlight that I was exposed to second-hand smoke all through my childhood years. Due to this, I suffer from a dreadful condition called perennial allergic rhinitis which does not have any cure.
The symptoms are perennial and severe and include daily sneezing bouts, heavy phlegm production and inflamed and highly irritating nostrils throughout the year. I also experience frequent throat infections (sore throat including yellowish and blackish phlegm production, frequent coughs, an inability to breath in and out effectively leading to poor breath control, lifelong memory loss, poor attention span, poor concentration and poor anger management since my nose is totally blocked. I have always been labelled as "dumb, ***** and hot-tempered" because of this. I was a musician who gave concert performances but because of my condition, was not able to pursue my musical career.
I have to take pills and nasal sprays throughout my life. The only other option I have is to go for surgery but my specialist doctors clearly told me that I face a particular risk of my nose bone collapsing and severe bleeding should I go for surgery. My doctor told me that even after the surgery, my condition cannot be completely cured and could recur.
My doctor also told me that taking pills and nasal sprays for too long would be harmful to my health.
I do not have effective breathing capability and suffer frequently from fatigue.
I have endured and continue to endure excruciating pain and discomfort all my life without any cure for this chronic and perennial condition. I have to regularly buy expensive medication and pay heavily for my doctor's consultation. My savings are running out because I need to care for my 2 year old baby as well.
I am experiencing a real dilemma wondering how I can take care of my baby and elderly mother when I myself am so sick.
Thus, my life experience should clearly demonstrate that even second-hand smoke is a killer.

I am sorry that you suffer from this health condition that makes your life so difficult, yet there is no cure. I also grew up with second hand smoke, though, fortunately, it did not seem to have the effects on me that you suffer from. I live in Los Angeles, where there are many rules regarding smoking. One cannot smoke in restaurants, movie theaters, buses -- almost anywhere that other people will be affected by second hand smoke.

. But fortunately, we follow the rules and no one smokes in the office. They all go outside to the parking lot to smoke. And fortunately, I never began smoking. So, I have have hardly been exposed to cigarette smoke since I was a child.
I think that one of the most important results of banning smoking in public areas is that it really makes the life of a smoker more difficult. They start to think that it would just be easier to quit. In fact, in the U.S. the percentage of people who smoke is way down since bans were placed in many cities on smoking in public areas. Now, fewer than 25% of Americans smoke. It was a much higher percentage when I was a child, 50 years ago.

You should ask GOV to ban desiel car because their smoke (odourless and colorless) is 5 times more deadly than smoking and second had smoke and petrol are 3 time worse.
The GOV will not admit it but check out medical report from the internet and you will know more.
Find out and be in the know.
