Dear Mr Goh,

Your statement implies that you and LHL opened the immigration floodgate without really understanding the full 360-degree consequences.

The issue is not skilled immigrants v/s locals. Locals are skilled too but they are being marginalized in competition for jobs created in Singapore.

The issue is – no other country including immigrant friendly countries such as US, Australia, Canada allows reckless immigration without any consideration for its own citizens which has nearly destroyed core social fabric of the society.

We are human beings and not just economic digits for elite economists.

These foreigners don’t have roots in Singapore whereas our families depend on our livelihood.

Have you considered the impact on our young generation due to the paranoia that their parents are going through?

The PAP government never thinks more than 1 step ahead. That is why they have been outclassed by some of us, deeper thinkers. They never ask their so called out of box PAP ministers before recruiting them, what is so out of box that you have done or something your peers have not done or not capable of doing? When one recruit not true out of box or one time copy cat, after a while, such people run out of ideas, cause they are not born with it, simple as that.

We had written many times in the past, at REACH forum, wonder where our feedbacks ended up?
Having too many foreigners from a certain country or two is very dangerous. Those country can threaten us with their demands, by asking their fellow countrymen working here to go on strike for weeks or months, how long can we afford a standstill?
Our own countrymen know the seriousness of a standstill, thus we have never witnessed a huge strike that caused a standstill till now, since the sixties. By having foreign groups in huge quantity, they might just flex their muscle to talk terms and conditions to benefit themself even more.
We are putting our own future in jeopardy and letting these foreigners conquered us without firing a bullet.
There should never be certain group that is very much larger than the rest, they will cause problem to our stability. It time to trim them down to size and get back the control of our land, before it is too late.
Our Country lacked of natural resources, we need our National reserve to be strengthened up to help us cushion external factors that affects our economy. We can't afford to be a Global charity home, taking in unwanted and jobless people from other countries. They still has got their natural resources to pull them through. Charity should always begin at home. Don't help others starving kids, when our own are also crying in starvation.
We can't be Big Brother like the USA. Know our own limits.

The Government has no interest in rebutting everything netizens have to say about this FT and FW issue. For this country to continue to prosper, they know per worker output must rise beyond what it is right now. And if Singaporeans are taking it easy, enjoying the nice lifestyle of a wealthy nation, they will just open the gates, introduce some serious competition. If we don't work hard, we will be eaten by the foreigners for lunch. That's the grand strategy.

But like everything else, this too will have many unintended negative consequences if taken too far.

At the end of the day, the Government wants us to do more sophisticated stuff, but work our socks off for it so foreigners will not have to pay too much money for these sophisticated stuff and widen the gap with our neighbours. Those Singaporeans who cannot keep up will just drop off the treadmill. Then perhaps the Government may drop some aid for them here and there.

We can forget about the Government closing the gates. It isn't going to happen. The special request of one large potential investor will override anything any netizen has to say. Those who have, win. Those who don't, lose.

On the contrary, the Government did think ahead. They knew competition is the sure fire way of getting Singaporeans to work harder for less and increase productivity when our lives depend on it.

Only that it has been allowed to be taken too far. Sure the Government can put the spurs on our hide to keep us on our toes and keep the economy competitive. But unike foreigners who can save for retirement in places with cost of living so low it costs almost a few dollars per day for subsistence, Singaporeans have to save for retirement in increasingly expensive Singapore. The Government cannot take this policy too far to motivate people like this. It has led to Singaporeans concluding that the Government has made the environment harsh and unreasonable and just doesn't give people a decent shot at getting and keeping a decent job.

Everything should be done in moderation. Otherwise even the best of intentions will backfire.

But seriously, PAP government can't see ahead, too many yes men, too many self serving career minded men and women, no heart for the people. Those with heart like Tan Cheng Bock left PAP.

Had they think ahead then moderation is the key. Pumping more foreigners is now like a steroid to them. They are addicted to such a solution as they are out of ideas. When you recruit the same mould, you get the same results. That's why kingdoms and dynasty never last cos after a while in breeding and replicating from same mould kills off ideas and diversity resulting in stagnation and exterior change come about irregardless how strong a hold one has on the media.

Don't believe, watch again when recession hit Singapore, they will again pump in more foreigners, it is like a drug, short term happiness, long term damage.
