The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will impose the maximum fine of S$2 million on transport operator SMRT for the two train disruptions along the North-South Line on December 15 and 17 last year.
This S$2 million will be donated to the Public Transport Fund to help needy families with transport fares.
This is good news, better than let LTA pocket all the money
They have a part to play for failing to protect commuters' interest yet no fine, no penalty, such good deal.
Will SMRT try to recover the costs by increasing fare price?
