It was reported in the papers that Singapore will extend a loan of SGD 5 million to IMF to help in the Eurozone bailout.
Singapore being an IMF member is obligated to help but I think the amount should not be too much.
While Singaporeans are suffering at home, the government should do more to help its own citizens.
Furthermore, Singapore is only a small country

Helping the IMF is helping the citizens.
What good do we gain if Eurozone falls? You want everyone to lose job?

Helping IMF and hleping citizens are two very different issues.
Eurozone crisis Singapore will not be able to help but do our little part.
Maybe a figure like SGD 1 million will suffice (not SGD 5 billion) as Singapore is so small in size as compared to USA or China.
It was also reported that USA and China are not contributing a single cent to IMF to help.
I am not sure if this is correct????
Maybe someone who knows can alighten us on this.

Just Google IMF Wikipedia.
China just confirmed their contributions a few days ago.
