MRT fare not cheap. Our cost of living is high.
LTA and SMRT shall look into increasing shop rental income.
LTA shall allow SMRT to put more shop unit inside station. Preferable in high traffic area instead of remote corner. If you visit Hong Kong, you found their MTR have a lot more shops. And all shops at good location.
In Singapore, SMRT put their shops at remote location. And SMRT staff shall be more business friendly. SMRT shall improve their shop with A&P.
Simply put more shop units in every stations. SMRT can fund their train and railway upgrade. And citizen will not suffer from high fare..
